Where would you like to go? (Alternatively, please comment on lj entry)

NOT A PUB - Maybe you're tired of boozing it up all week long and fancy a cheap and cheerful haunt to meet at. If this is the case, comment with venue suggestions such as "curry down brick lane" or "dim sum" or "any coffee shop anywhere". (At this point, any info is good! I have to have some base to find info on venues!!!) Unfortunately, if the majority go with a pub, that is where it will be

The Eagle by Farringdon (2 stops away from Kings Cross and short bus ride away from Kings Cross, like maybe 10 minutes tops) 159 Farringdon Road EC1R 3AL
http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/pubsandbars/the-eagle-review-11338.html
http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/82/8247/Eagle/Clerkenwell
Food from £7 to £12/Cocktails from £5 Virgin drinks from £1.50.
Google fu fails at telling me the price of a pint!!!

Charles Lamb by Angel (and by Kings Cross) 16 Elia Street N1 8DE
http://www.thecharleslambpub.com/ - office site, nice layout
http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/27/27839/Charles_Lamb/Angel_Islington - great reviews
http://london.randomness.org.uk/wiki.cgi?Charles_Lamb%2C_N1_8DE - great reviews and summary
http://www.fancyapint.com/pubs/pub2654.html - another great review and summary
Pint of local £2.70/Pint of Heineken et al £3-£4/bottled beer £3 ish
Mains £8-£9/side food such as crisps and chips not listed on website (if you find this, let me know so I can update this info)

Knights Templar by Chancery Lane (3-4 stops away from Kings Cross)
95 Chancery Lane WC2A 1DT
http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/15/1536/Knights_Templar/Chancery_Lane - great review
http://london.randomness.org.uk/wiki.cgi?Knights_Templar%2C_WC2A_1DT - great review
http://london.openguides.org/wiki/?Knights_Templar,_WC2A_1DT - great review but a bit dated (dec 2002!!)
http://www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk/pub/theknightstemplar - official but website doesn't mention prices... hmmm
Prices? Anyone's guess at this point
The one pub I can tell you about due to personal experience! The best part of this pub is that it's a Wetherspoon so you will not be overcharged for a pint (but the last time I went there was 4 years ago so what do I know?) But the worst part of this pub is that it's a Wetherspoon so they may try to serve you dog food. LOL j/k Best loos in London btw! (the ladies loos are fabulous!!!)

Candid Cafe by Angel (and by Kings Cross) 3 Torrens St EC1V 1NQ
http://www.qype.co.uk/uki/tag/candid - real reviews
http://www.timeout.com/london/restaurants/reviews/10568.html - review
http://www.candidarts.com/sections/galleryandcafepages/candid_cafe.htm - official site
Mains between $5-£10, sandwiches £2.80, Coffees/teas/lattes £1.20, Soft drinks £1
I think when meetup.com launched, for some reason, every meetup.com group in London used Candid Cafe. But this is going back sometime. I'm keeping this on the list for that reason. And also to offer a non-pub establishment.
NOTE - NOT WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY

Punch Tavern by fleet street (a few stops away from Kings Cross), I guess nearer to Waterloo at that point??? 99 Fleet Street EC4Y 1DE
http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/62/6269/Punch_Tavern/Fleet_Street - good reviews
http://www.fancyapint.com/pubs/pub333.html - good summary
http://london.randomness.org.uk/wiki.cgi?Punch_Tavern%2C_EC4Y_1DE -another good review
http://www.punchtavern.com/
Mains £8-£12, Chips £2.50, Bottle of wine £15, Small Glass £4, Large £5
£3.50 for a pint
